WORLD TOURISM CONFERENCE | ACCRA, GHANA
The health and safety of our travel community is and will always be our highest priority. We have been closely monitoring the rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as it significantly impacts our sector and upcoming global events. Given the evolving nature of the pandemic, the Africa Tourism Association (ATA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority have made the difficult decision to postpone the World Tourism Conference previously scheduled to take place from 12-16 October 2020 in Accra, Ghana. This was a tough call to make – the conference is an incredibly important event for ATA and a valuable platform to connect with our global community to discuss how to move the industry forward - but we need to prioritize the health and safety of our members, team, partners, delegates and stakeholders.
The Ghana Tourism Authority remains committed to partnering with ATA to host the Conference in Ghana, and together with ATA is currently exploring new dates which will be announced as soon as possible. In the interim, we are collaborating with our partners and planning other ways to connect to the travel and tourism community.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The Africa Tourism Association, in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority, will host the 2020 World Tourism Conference (WTC) in Accra, Ghana. The conference will highlight the emerging business and investment opportunities across Africa’s tourism sector. The conference will show how tourism can be utilized as an engine for economic growth and job creation through disruptive business models and strategies, leveraging creative industries and culture, emerging technologies, capacity building, and building strategic partnerships. The conference will also provide a platform to connect, network and explore new tourism markets and products.
